Ana Paula Vieira Colombo

Possui graduação em Odontologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1990), especialização em Periodontia/UFRJ (1991), doutorado em Medical Sciences in Oral Biology/Harvard School of Dental Medicine (1997) e Research Fellowship in Oral Microbiology/The Forsyth Institute (1997), MA, EUA. Concluiu o pós-doutorado (2008) no Dep. Molecular Genetics/Forsyth Institute, com o Dr. Bruce Paster, no qual trabalhou no "HUMAN ORAL MICROBE MICROARRAY (HOMIM)?. Foi Coordenadora do programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências (Microbiologia) do IMPG/UFRJ (2009-2011), Chefe do Dep. de Microbiologia Médica do IMPPG (2017-2019) e Diretora Adjunta do IMPPG/UFRJ (2014-2019). Em 2019-2020, foi em missão científica para o Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, EUA, atuando como pesquisadora visitante no Dep. de Microbiologia, em colaboração com Dr. Floyd Dewhirst e Bruce Paster. Chefia o Lab. de Microbiologia Oral da UFRJ desde 2002. Atualmente, é Professora Titular do Dep. Microbiologia Médica do IMPG; docente permanente dos programas de PG em Ciências (Microbiologia CAPES 7) e Odontologia (Periodontia CAPES 5) da UFRJ; Cientista do Nosso Estado (FAPERJ) desde 2009; pesquisadora do CNPQ (2002-2021, 2023), associada ao grupo de pesquisa em Odontologia (CNPQ) da FO/UFRJ. Atua como membro do CA e da CEDI da FAPERJ na área de Ciências Biológicas.Tem experiência nas áreas de Odontologia e Microbiologia Médica, com ênfase em Periodontia/Endodontia/Cariologia, Microbiologia e Imunologia Oral, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: etiologia, resposta imune e terapia das infecções orais, caracterização do microbioma oral e sua relação com outros microbiomas do organismo humano, estudos clínicos em odontologia, antimicrobianos, isolamento e identificação de espécies multirresistentes de relevância clínica e espécies orais não cultiváveis do biofilme dental.

She holds a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1990), specialization in Periodontics/UFRJ (1991), PhD in Medical Sciences in Oral Biology/Harvard School of Dental Medicine (1997) and Research Fellowship in Oral Microbiology/The Forsyth Institute (1997), MA, USA. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship (2008) at the Dep. Molecular Genetics/Forsyth Institute, with Dr. Bruce Paster, where she worked on the "HUMAN ORAL MICROBE MICROARRAY (HOMIM)". She was Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Sciences (Microbiology) of IMPG/UFRJ (2009-2011), Head of the Dept. of Medical Microbiology of IMPPG (2017-2019) and Deputy Director of IMPPG/UFRJ (2014-2019). In 2019-2020, she went on a scientific mission to the Forsyth Institute, Cambridge, USA, working as a visiting researcher at the Department of Microbiology, in collaboration with Dr. Floyd Dewhirst and Bruce Paster. She has been head of the Oral Microbiology Lab at UFRJ since 2002. Currently, she is a Full Professor of the Dep. Medical Microbiology of IMPG; permanent professor of the PG programs in Sciences (Microbiology CAPES 7) and Dentistry (Periodontics CAPES 5) of UFRJ; Scientist of the State (FAPERJ) since 2009; researcher at CNPQ (2002-2021, 2023), associated with the research group in Dentistry (CNPQ) of FO/UFRJ. She has experience in the areas of Dentistry and Medical Microbiology, with emphasis on Periodontics / Endodontics / Cariology, Microbiology and Oral Immunology, working mainly on the following topics: etiology, immune response and therapy of oral infections, characterization of the oral microbiome and its relationship with other microbiomes of the human organism, clinical studies in dentistry, antimicrobials, isolation and identification of multidrug-resistant species of clinical relevance and non-cultivable oral species of the dental biofilm.
