Daniel Pacheco Lacerda

D. Sc. in Production Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ and CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (PQ-2) in the Production Engineering area. He served as Coordinator of the Bachelor of Production Engineering/UNISINOS (2011-2021). He coordinates the Postgraduate Program in Production Engineering and Systems - PPGEPS/UNISINOS, leads GMAP | UNISINOS (Research Group on Modeling for Learning), and is Vice-President of ABEPRO (Brazilian Production Engineering Association). He develops applied research projects in companies such as FIOCRUZ/Bio-Manguinhos, PETROBRAS, TRANSPETRO, JBS, AGDI, SEBRAE/RS, SESI, VALE, TAURUS, and INDASA. He obtained academic distinctions with the guidance of research awarded by ABEPRO in 2013/2014/2015/2018/2020 and ANPEPRO in 2019, Gaucho Researcher Award - FAPERGS 2014 (category Researcher in the Company) and the Productivity Scholarship in Technological Development and Innovative Extension of CNPq (2013-2016). He has published over 100 articles in journals such as the International Journal of Production Economics, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, and Business Process Management Journal, among others, with high impact factor. He is a reviewer or associate editor for journals indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science. He has published 21 books with major publishers such as Elsevier, Bookman, Springer, and Taylor Francis. His book on Design Science Research has reached more than 54,000 downloads. Internationally, he has received the Outstanding Paper Award for Excellence from Emerald Literati Network and the TOCICO Outstanding Volunteer Award and published Springer and Taylor Francis books. He evaluates projects for the NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada), integrates the Independent Award Committee of the International Symposium on Immunobiologicals (ISI-Bio-Manguinhos/FIOCRUZ), and develops collaborations with the College of Charleston/USA, Porto University, Católica do Porto Business School and Eindhoven Technology University (TU/e - Netherlands). He served as Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP/UPorto) and integrated the Global Manufacturing Research Group (GMRG). He is listed in an article published in the International Journal of Production Research as one of the 12 most prolific authors in the Theory of Constraints worldwide. He has professional and academic experience in Operations Strategy, Process Engineering and Organizational Design, Management and Efficiency Analysis (Data Envelopment Analysis), Design Science Research, Theory of Constraints, Modularity, and Hard and Soft Modeling. He is a project evaluator for CAPES, CNPq, FAPESQ (Foundation for Research Support of the State of Paraíba), and the State Education Council of Rio Grande do Sul (CEED/RS). Doutor em Engenharia de Produção pela COPPE/UFRJ e Bolsista de Produtividade em Pesquisa do CNPq (PQ-2) na área de Engenharia de Produção.
