Daniel Neves Schmitz Gonçalves

Doutor em Engenharia de Transportes pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (COPPE/UFRJ). Mestre em Engenharia de Transportes pelo Instituto Militar de Engenharia (IME). Especialista (MBA) em Logística e Distribuição pelo Centro Universitário de Maringá. Graduado em Engenharia de Produção pela Universidade Salgado de Oliveira. Técnico em Transporte Rodoviário pelo Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia. Consultor da Luth-e e pesquisador do Laboratório de Transporte de Carga - LTC (COPPE/UFRJ) e do Instituto Brasileiro de Transporte Sustentável ? IBTS. Autor de 83 publicações técnico-científicas, sendo 26 em revistas indexadas (incluindo publicações em revistas científicas internacionais com índices JCR/Qualis A1). Ademais, possui cinco prêmios de melhor trabalho em congressos técnicos e é autor de capítulos de três livros, sendo dois deles edições do Brasil em números do IBGE. Atuando desde 2013 nas seguintes linhas de pesquisa: modelos energético-climáticos para linha de base e cenários prospectivos do setor de transportes; mobilidade elétrica e híbrida; transporte público urbano e regional de passageiros; planejamento e análise de pesquisas de planejamento de transporte. Nessa linha, tem desempenhado várias posições de pesquisador e consultor junto de entidades públicas e privadas como MDR; MCTIC; ME; ABDI; FBMC; IME; GIZ; FGV; WWF; KfW; Greenpeace; BID, ICS; Climate Works Foundation; Centro Clima; BYD; Rio Ônibus; Royal Dutch Shell e Fundo Verde/UFRJ.

I am an Industrial Engineer and a PhD in Transport Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Coppe/UFRJ), with a master's degree in Transport Engineering from the Military Engineering Institute (IME) and an MBA in Logistics and Distribution from the University Center of Maringá. Author of 83 technical-scientific publications, including: three book chapters (two editions of the ?Brazil in numbers? by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics ? IBGE - and one by the Emerald publisher); technical reports; and articles in important scientific journals such as Transportation Research Part-D (Elsevier), Energy Policy (Elsevier), Renewable Energy (Elsevier), Climatic Change (Springer) and International Journal of Sustainable Transportation (Taylor & Francis Group). This experience resulted in five awards for best work at transportation congresses. In addition, I am a consultant and senior researcher at the Freight Transport Laboratory - LTC (Coppe/UFRJ) and at the Brazilian Institute for Sustainable Transport (IBTS). Since 2013, I have investigated the following research areas: energy-climate scenarios and models in the transport sector; electric and hybrid mobility; metropolitan and non-metropolitan passenger transport; and national transportation planning. I have carried out projects with public and private institutions, such as: Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTIC), Ministry of Economy (ME), Ministry of Regional Development (MDR), Brazilian Forum on Climate Change (FBMC), Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), World Bank Group (WBG), World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Greenpeace, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Climate Works Foundation, BYD, Royal Dutch Shell, Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), Climate and Society Institute (ICS) among others.
