Graduated in Hydrography - Oceanography by the Granma Naval Academy in Havana, Cuba. Master in Integrated Management of the Coastal Zone at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the University of Havana and a PhD in Oceanography-Meteorology defended at the Institute of Meteorology of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba. Reached the scientific category of senior researcher. She has worked in the areas of Physical and Chemical Oceanography, Marine Pollution, Marine Environment Quality Studies, Integrated Coastal Management, Marine Environmental Impact, Climate Changes, Coastal Floods, Residues in the Seas, Numeric Simulations of Marine Larval Paths, numerical simulations of the ecology of populations and marine communities, numerical simulations of marine currents, numerical simulations of passive particles as pollutants. Managed important marine research projects associated with the oceanographic characteristics of the ocean waters that surround Cuba (1996-2000) and its relationship with Larval Populations of marine species of commercial interest to Cuba.
