Graduado em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (1983), com mestrado (1993) e doutorado (2011) em Planejamento Urbano e Regional pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Entre 1999 e 2004, realizou estudos na área de Ciências Cognitivas Aplicadas, no PPGIE-UFRGS, desenvolvendo pesquisas junto ao Laboratório de Estudos em Linguagem, Interação e Cognição - LELIC-UFRGS. Desde 1988, é professor da Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, ministrando disciplinas de teoria urbana e projeto urbanístico. Em 2012, inciou o bacharelado em Artes Visuais no Instituto de Artes da UFRGS.

Since 1988, is assistant professor of the School of Architecture of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, conducting disciplines of urban theory and urban design. In 2012, initiated a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts at the Art Institute of UFRGS.
