Sergio do Nascimento Duarte

Professor Sergio has a underdegree in Eng. Agronomy from UFRRJ (1983), MS in Irrigation and Drainage from ESALQ/USP (1989) and Dr. in Agricultural Engineering from UFV (1996). Currently he is Prof. Head of the Dept. by Eng. of Biosystems at ESALQ/USP, in Piracicaba - SP. He has taught Hydraulics, Hydrology and Drainage classes for the Undergraduate Courses in Agronomy and Environmental Management. He was a professor of Applied Mathematics and is currently a professor of Natural Water Control and Applied Hydrology at the Graduate Program in Eng. of Agricultural Systems at ESALQ, of which he is also part of the Coordinating Committee. He was Vice Coordinator of the PPG in Irrigation and Drainage at ESALQ and member of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí River Basin Committee for 6 years. He develops research in the areas of Hydrology, Salinity and Drainage. He is the Coordinator of the Laboratory of Applied and Environmental Hydrology at ESALQ, a member of the Hydrology Research Groups at UNICAMP, CNPq and the Basin Group at USP/Embrapa, in addition to representing ESALQ at the Municipal Council of Science and Technology and Innovation of Piracicaba. He is a member of the TWRA (Tropical Water Research Alliance), of the ESALQ Environmental Management Course Committee, Vice-Coordinator of the Extension Group Revitalizing Parks and a CNPq productivity fellow since 2003. He is a member of the Dept's Council and is registered to guide at master's and doctoral levels, and supervise Post-Doctoral students in the Post-Graduate Program in Agricultural Systems Engineering at ESALQ/USP. É Graduado em Eng. Agronômica pela UFRRJ (1983), MS em Irrigação e Drenagem pela ESALQ/USP (1989) e Dr. em Engenharia Agrícola pela UFV (1996). Atualmente é Prof. Titular do Depto. de Eng. de Biossistemas na ESALQ/USP, em Piracicaba - SP. Tem ministrado aulas de Hidráulica, Hidrologia e Drenagem para os Cursos de Graduação em Agronomia e Gestão Ambiental. Foi professor de Matemática Aplicada e atualmente é professor de Controle de Águas Naturais e Hidrologia Aplicada do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Eng. de Sistemas Agrícolas da ESALQ. Foi Vice Coordenador do PPG em Irrigação e Drenagem da ESALQ e é membro da Câmara Técnica de Integração e Difusão de Pesquisas e Tecnologias do Comitê das Bacias dos rios Piracicaba, Capivari e Jundiaí. Desenvolve pesquisas nas áreas de Hidrologia, Salinidade e Drenagem. É Coordenador do Laboratório de Hidrologia Aplicada e Ambiental da ESALQ, membro dos Grupos de Pesquisas em Hidrologia da UNICAMP, do CNPq e do Grupo Bacias da USP/Embrapa, além de representante da ESALQ no Conselho Municipal de Ciência e Tecnologia e Inovação de Piracicaba.
