Carmen Lucia Tancredo Borges

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1984), MS in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) and Ph.D. in Computing and Systems Engineering at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1998). She is Full Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, working in graduate school (COPPE) and undergraduate school (Polytechnic). She has experience in teaching, research and development of projects in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Systems. Primarily actuates in the following areas: Analysis, Simulation and Optimization, Reliability, Distributed Generation, Renewable Energy, Intelligent Systems and High Performance Processing. She has been Academic Coordinator of the Electrical Engineering Program of COPPE/UFRJ in 2007, President of the Chapter PES - Power & Energy Systems of the IEEE Rio Section for the period from 2012 to 2014, Head of the Power Systems area of the Electrical Engineering Program of COPPE/UFRJ for the period from 2014 to 2016 and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) of Polytechnic School/UFRJ for the period from 2014 to 2016. She has been Director of International Relations of Polytechnic School/UFRJ in 2019. She is granted by FAPERJ Scientist of Our State (CNE) program since 2013. She is a member of the Management Committee of the ANP/FINEP Human Resources Program (PRH) in Environmental Engineering in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Industry since 2019. Present in the list of the 100 thousand most cited scientists in the world for his career and in the year 2019, organized by Stanford University, United States.

Possui graduação em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (1984), mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1991) e doutorado em Engenharia de Sistemas e Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998). Atualmente é Professor Titular da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, atuando na pós-graduação da COPPE e na graduação da Escola Politécnica. Tem experiência de ensino, pesquisa e desenvolvimento de projetos na área de Engenharia Elétrica, com ênfase em Sistemas de Potência. Atua principalmente nas seguintes áreas: Análise, Simulação e Otimização, Confiabilidade, Geração Distribuída, Fontes Alternativas, Sistemas Inteligentes e Processamento de Alto Desempenho. Foi Coordenadora Acadêmica do Programa de Engenharia Elétrica da COPPE/UFRJ em 2007, Presidente do Capítulo PES-Power & Energy Systems da Seção Rio do IEEE de 2012 a 2014, Chefe da Área de Sistemas de Energia Elétrica do Programa de Engenharia Elétrica da COPPE/UFRJ de 2014 a 2016 e Chefe do Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Poli/UFRJ de 2014 a 2016. Foi Diretora Adjunta de Relações Internacionais da Escola Politécnica/UFRJ em 2019. É Cientista do Nosso Estado (CNE) pela FAPERJ desde 2013. É membro da Comissão Gestora do Programa de Recursos Humanos (PRH) da ANP/FINEP em Engenharia Ambiental na Indústria de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis desde 2019. Presente na lista dos 100 mil cientistas mais citados do mundo pela sua carreira e no ano de 2019, organizada pela Universidade de Stanford, Estados Unidos.
