Alan Robert Resende de Freitas

Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil), University of Sheffield (UK), and ORT Braude College of Engineering (Israel) (split PhD) on the field of Computational Intelligence under the supervision of F. Gadelha, Peter Fleming, and Gideon Avigad. Master and Bachelor in Computer Science from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). Author of papers in the fields of Computational Intelligence, Multi-objective Gray-box Optimization, Portfolio Optimization, Computer Music, P2P networks, and Programming Languages. Previously a Marie Curie researcher within the Seventh Framework Program (FP7) of the European Commission CORDIS, a visiting researcher at the Rolls-Royce Control & Systems University Technology Centre at the University of Sheffield (UK) and ORT Braude College of Engineering (Israel), and a visiting professor at the University of Montreal (UdeM). As an educationalist, he coordinated the project "Aluno Integrado", which has taught the basic of informatics and computer maintenance to more than 10 thousands students from low-income regions of Brazil.

Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Computação da Universidade Federal de Ouro Preto (UFOP). Doutorado em Engenharia Elétrica, na linha de Inteligência Computacional, pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) em conjunto com a Universidade de Sheffield (Inglaterra) e ORT Braude College of Engineering (Israel). Mestrado e Bacharelado em Ciência da Computação pela UFOP. Autor de artigos acadêmicos nas áreas de Inteligência Computacional, Otimização Caixa-Cinza Multi-Objetivo, Otimização de Portfolios, Música Computacional, Redes P2P, Linguagens de Programação. Foi pesquisador Marie Curie da Comissão Européia como parte do Seventh Framework Program, pesquisador no Centro de Tecnologia da Rolls Royce em Engenharia de Controle e Sistemas (Inglaterra) e na ORT Braude College of Engineering (Israel), e professor visitante na Universidade de Montreal (Canadá). Autor da biblioteca Matplot++, destinada à visualização de dados em computação científica. Como educador, foi um dos coordenadores do programa Aluno Integrado em MG, que deu formação básica sobre Informática e Manutenção de Computadores a mais de 10 mil alunos da rede pública de ensino.
