PAULO CESAR PELLANDA

Paulo César Pellanda received the B.Sc. degree from the Federal University of Technology-Paraná, Brazil, in 1985, the M.Sc. degree from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1993, both in Electrical Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control from the Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (ISAE-SUPAERO), France, in 2001. He received the 2003 CNRS/EEA Best Thesis Prize in Automatic Control (France). Member of the Brazilian National Academy of Engineering and IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Prof. Pellanda joined the Electrical Engineering Department of IME in 1994, where he was the Head of the Department from 2005 to 2006 and the Head of the Defense Engineering Graduate Program from 2006 to 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor and has been teaching circuit analysis, power systems control, and control systems. His research interests include innovation management, robust optimal control, parameter robust control, and linear parameter varying control, with applications in aerospace, flexible structures, and power system fields.
