Juan Sebastián Luna Osorio

I am BSc in Geology at the Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) in Colombia. Currently, I am MSc candidate in Geosciences at the Universidade Estatal de Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. I am interested in petroleum geology performing tasks related to the characterization of conventional and unconventional (shale oil/gas type) reservoirs with emphasis on sedimentary basin analysis, geological mapping, petroleum systems modeling, 3D geological modeling, prospect evaluation and risk analysis. I have expertise in petroleum geochemistry linking processes of generation, migration, and accumulation of hydrocarbons, petroleum systems modeling, biomarkers analysis, oil-oil and oil-source rock correlations and developing the construction and interpretation of geochemical analyses such as Rock Eval Pyrolysis, Vitrinite Reflectance (%Ro) and Total Organic Carbon (%TOC). In addition, I have skills in cartographic production, database management, spatial analysis, distributed event simulation and spatially referenced decision-making. In turn, I carry out 3D static modeling, reservoir quality analysis, seismic and well log interpretation, stratigraphic and structural correlations, stratigraphic-petrophysical and structural modeling, and Sedimentological descriptions (drill cuttings and core), looking forward to assessment volumetric calculations, estimation of reserves and contingent hydrocarbon resources.
