Dr Ing Liang Wong is a lecturer in Sustainable Design and Construction at Glasgow Caledonian University since 2008. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Fellow at Warwick University in TARBASE project, involving energy simulation works using ESP-r for group of different types of existing buildings in the UK using various technological interventions. Dr Wong gained his PhD from Ulster University in 2008, specializing in detailed building energy simulations, numerical modelling of transparent insulation system, life cycle costing and risk analysis. His research and teaching interests are renewable energy, transparent insulation materials, solar energy, passive solar energy design, risk management, life cycle costing, innovative daylighting system and building energy assessment. He has delivered a number of CPD for professional and academia, such as, RICS Scotland CPD events, etc. He is also qualified for becoming energy assessor for Non-Domestic Buildings in Scotland in 2009 and has experience in using several computer simulation software/ tools, such as, iSBEM, ESP-r, Revit, DIALux, etc. His previous and current research activities include: novel and new transparent insulation materials, daylighting system, building energy assessment method in Brazil, risk management in small and medium enterprises in the UK construction industry, CO2 impact analysis of the proposed high speed rail line in the UK. He previously worked as a quantity surveyor for international construction companies in Taiwan High Speed Rail Construction Project.
