Marcílio Machado Pereira

He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (2010) and a Master's degree in Brazilian Literature (2006), both from the State University of Rio de Janeiro, where he also graduated in Portuguese Literature. He is currently Associate Professor at the UESPI-Portuguese Language Course (since 2013). He taught for 3 and a half years as a high school and elementary school teacher of the State of Rio de Janeiro's Education Department and for two years by the Municipal Department of Education of the city of Rio de Janeiro. He worked for two years (from 2010 to 2012) as a professor in the courses of Tourism and Psychology of the UFPI (Federal University of Piauí) and for 3 years in the courses of History and Social Work of INTA (Higher Institute of Applied Theology) between January 2010 and June 2013 and the UESPI (State University of Piauí) for two years (2011 and 2012) as substitute professor. Minister disciplines for PARFOR (UESPI and UFPI) for two and a half years. He was coordinator of the PIBID Letras project in the UESPI Delta of Parnaíba, linked to the Portuguese-Language Course between 2014 and 2018 (4 years). Coordinates PIBID of Letters-Portuguese of UESPI of Parnaíba from August of 2018 (the expected duration for this edition is of 18 months). Integrates the directory of the research group CNPQ "Studies of contemporary literature: politics and gender". He has developed the following projects registered at PROP-UESPI: Literature and literary life: a rescue of life and literary records in the city Parnaíba and Investigations on contemporary literature in Brazil. He coordinated 8 projects PIBIC-UESPI: 1) The strength of homoerotic literature in Brazil: the misconduct of João Gilberto Noll; 2) Anti-illusionism, play and undecidability in the work of Bernardo Carvalho; 3) Trends in current fiction in Brazil: Sérgio Sant'Anna and metafiction; 4) Contemporary Brazilian literature: games with double, fantasy and metafiction in the work of Rubens Figueiredo, 5) Luiz Alfredo Garcia-Roza's novel, 6) marks of violence in the novel O matador, by Patrícia Melo, 7 ) Desterritorialization and other decentralization in the contemporary novel by Adriana Lisboa, 8) fiction and memory in Cristovão Tezza's The Eternal Son, two of which are contemplated with scholarships for research-oriented researchers. He currently coordinates 4 other PIBIC projects. He has experience in Literature, with emphasis on Contemporary Brazilian Literature, Comparative Literature, Piauí literature and Theory of Literature, working mainly in the following subjects: Literature, Cinema, Rubem Fonseca, Júlio Cortázar, Bernardo Carvalho, Rubens Figueiredo, Sérgio Sant'Anna , Joao Gilberto Noll, Luiz Alfredo Garcia-Roza, Patrícia Melo, Cristóvão Tezza, Adriana Lisboa, Marcelo Mirisola, Milton Hatoum, Luiz Ruffato, Chico Buarque, David Lynch, police genre, metafiction, anti-fiction and game in fiction. Integrates the Collegiate and the Structuring Teaching Core of the UESPI Portuguese-Language Course. He organized 4 books: Linhas & Letras: Language Studies, Linguistics and Literature v.1 (2018), Among the Piauí lines: 14 featured writers (2015), Letras da Delta: Language, Linguistics and Literature Studies at the Faculdade Internacional of the Delta (2013) and Psychopedagogy and Education (2013).

Possui doutorado em Literatura Comparada (2010) e mestrado em Literatura Brasileira (2006), ambos pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, onde também se graduou em Letras Português-Literaturas. É professor efetivo Adjunto IV DE do Curso de Letras-Português da UESPI. Lecionou por 3 anos e meio como professor do Ensino Médio e Fundamental da Secretaria de Educação do Estado do Rio de Janeiro e por dois anos pela Secretaria Municipal de Educação da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Lecionou por dois anos (de 2010 a 2012) como professor nos cursos de Turismo e Psicologia da UFPI (Universidade Federal do Piauí) e por 3 anos nos cursos de História e de Serviço Social do INTA (Instituto Superior de Teologia Aplicada) entre janeiro de 2010 e junho de 2013 e no Curso de Letras-Português da UESPI (Universidade Estadual do Piauí) por dois anos (2011 e 2012) como professor substituto. Ministrou disciplinas pelo PARFOR (UESPI E UFPI). Foi coordenador do projeto PIBID de Letras-Português da UESPI de Parnaíba entre 2014 e 2018 (4 anos) e entre 2018 e janeiro de 2020 (18 meses). Integra o diretório do grupo de pesquisa CNPQ "Estudos de literatura contemporânea: política e gênero". Desenvolve atualmente 2 projetos de Pesquisa cadastrados na PROP-UESPI: O Romance Policial na Literatura Brasileira Contemporânea e Vertentes da ficção brasileira no novo milênio. Coordenou 23 projetos PIBIC-UESPI e atualmente coordena mais 2 projetos PIBIC-UESPI. Organizou 5 livros: Panorama da ficção brasileira contemporânea v.1 (2019), Linhas & Letras: estudos de língua, linguística e literatura v.1 (2018), Entre as linhas do Piauí: 14 escritores em destaque (2015), Letras do Delta: estudos de língua, linguística e literatura da Faculdade Internacional do Delta (2013) e Psicopedagogia e educação (2013). Tem experiência na área de Letras, com ênfase em Literatura brasileira contemporânea, Literatura comparada, literatura piauiense e Teoria da Literatura, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Literatura, Cinema, Rubem Fonseca, Júlio Cortázar, Bernardo Carvalho, David Lynch, gênero policial, metaficção, antiilusionismo e jogo na ficção. Integra o Colegiado e o Núcleo Docente Estruturante do Curso de Letras-Português da UESPI.
