Ignacio Larrabide

He graduated on Software Engineering in 2002 at the Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and developed his doctoral studies on Scientific Computing at the LNCC/MCT in Petrópolis, RJ, Brazil from 2003 to 2007 supported by a CNPq (www.cnpq.br) doctoral scholarship (141336/2003-0) under the supervision of Prof. Raúl A. Feijóo (coordinator of the INCT-MACC National Institute of Science and Technology in Medicine Assisted by Scientific Computing) . During this period he also contributed in the HeMoLab (hemolab.lncc.br) Laboratory at LNCC (also an Associated Laboratory of the INCT-MACC). He led and was responsible for Scientific Software Development at the Center for Computational Imaging & Simulation Technologies in Biomedicine (http://www.cistib.upf.edu/cistib/) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra from April 2007 to September 2008, home of GIMIAS platform (www.gimias.org). Currently, he leads a research team within CISTIB focused on Image-Based Technologies in Vascular Hemodynamics. He holds a position as Research fellow at the Center for Networked Biomedical Research Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN) funded by the Spanish Instituto de Salud Carlos III. Currently he is a collaborator researcher within the INCT-MACC in the field of computational modelling of the cardiovascular system as well as in medical image computing. His current research interests include all aspects of model based image processing, variational principles, numerical methods, medical image processing, virtual medical devices and agile methodologies for software development.
