Berend Jan Slotman

Since 1998 Dr. Slotman has served as Professor and Head of the Department of RadiationOncology at Vrije Universiteit medical center in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His expertiselies mainly in the field of stereotactic irradiation, the treatment of small cell lung cancer andthe early clinical implementation of new technologies.Professor Slotman is the (co)-author of more than 200 peer reviewed publications. He has(co-) organized various conferences and has coordinated a number of trials, including theEORTC study on prophylactic cranial irradiation in extensive stage small cell lung cancer. Heis currently principle investigator of a multicenter randomized trial on the role of thoracicirradiation in these patients. His further research activities are concentrated on intra- andextracranial stereotactic radiotherapy and the introduction of various new technologies inradiotherapy. He is associate editor of the Journal of Radiosurgery and SBRT.
