Karen Abreu Resende
BSc (2011), MSc (2013) and Ph.D. (2017) in Chemical Engineering, Brazil. As a chemical engineer, I have a comprehensive knowledge and experience with catalytic processes. My experience with catalysts extends to nearly nine years, throughout which I have been developing strong theoretical and experimental backgrounds with different reactional processes. As a catalytic researcher, I have been working with the development of renewable energy processes, such as hydrogenation reactions, biomass upgrading, and the reform process. In general, these studies involve a better comprehension of the physical-chemical property of the different catalytic, the investigation of reactional mechanisms and a better comprehension of the catalytic behavior at in situ environments and with synchrotron measurements. Fortunately, I have been working with people from different backgrounds, since I had the opportunity of working at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Richland-USA, at University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and in this moment I am working as a postdoc researcher in Technical University of Munich (TUM). Personally, I truly believe in the universal importance of looking for new achievements in the renewable energy process, since this is a key point to ensure a sustainable existence and development of our future. In this context, through my work, I expect to promote significant contributions to society.
graduation at Engenharia Química from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2011), master's at Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2013) and doctorate at Chemical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (2017). , acting on the following subjects: etanol, niquel, reforma, platina and metano.
