Pedro Tovar Braga

Pedro Tovar Braga is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Fiber-Optics research group at the University of Ottawa - Ottawa, ON, Canada. His current line of research includes fiber-optics high-frequency acoustic sensing, distributed birefringence sensing, random fiber lasers and random number generation. He has over 11 years of experience in research and electrical engineering projects. 4 of those years were dedicated to offshore engineering projects as an instrumentation/automation engineer. Pedro worked with R&D at CETUC (Center for Telecommunication Studies of PUC-Rio) during his Master?s and PhD studies. In 2018 he obtained his Master?s Degree in Electrical Engineering, at PUC-Rio, with focus on fiber-optic systems and microwave-photonics. In 2021 he obtained his PhD Degree in Electrical engineering from the same institution, giving important contributions to the field of random fiber lasers. He has published over 30 papers in international journals and conferences, mainly focused on fiber-optic systems, but also including works with neural networks and guided acoustic waves.
