José Carlos Bortot

Graduated in Economics and Administration from Fundação Santo André (1967) and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Mackenzie University (2003). Currently, he has been teaching as a full professor of the State Center for Technological Education Paula Souza (FATEC) and as an adjunct professor at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP). He has experience in Computer Science, mainly in Basic Software, acting in the following topics: genetic algorithms, cellular automata, multi-objective optimization, grid computing and data security. In the area of telecommunications, he developed and implemented the DDD system - Direct Distance Dialing of Embratel, aircraft maintenance of Varig ? Viação Aérea Riograndense, administrative systems of Petrobras - Petroleo Brasileiro, Prodemge - Processing the State of Minas Gerais, Procergs - Processing State of Rio Grande do Sul, communication of Shell gas stations with the Bamerindus Bank and several communication protocols for Mohawk Data Sciences computers to communicate with IBM, Burroughs (Unisys), CDC - Control Data, Digital equipments. In the area of banking automation, he developed software for twenty seven Banks among them: Bradesco (1979); Banespa State Bank of São Paulo, Banco Francês e Brasileiro (Credit Lyonnais). In the area of business automation, he developed systems to chain of stores including: Mesbla (1976); Makro Wholesalers; Grupo Pão de Acúcar (EPL - Electronic Price Label) and Duty Free Shop airports. He has developed innovative software for competitions of jeeps with four-wheel drive. He was a consultant in the Blue Zone parking system of CET - São Paulo (2010), where the user requests the hours and pay by mobile phone eliminating, the paper or the parking meter. The inspector has a PDA with GPRS and in real time consult if the vehicle is correctly parked , if doesn?t happen, the user is fined on the spot. The CET?s administrators have a pen drive with a digital signature, and through the Internet they can, check the system from anywhere in the world with hierarchical passwords. He built a sailboat with 10.60m (34.5 ft), with his own hands and developed a navigation software in C-Sharp (C#) which he uses digital raster charts BSB Navy of Brazil. He receives NMEA messages from onboard electronic equipments (GPS, sonar, wind, temperature and speed over water), helps the project of routes of, the source of destination, warning if there is collision in landforms. During navigation, by using multi-objective optimization with genetic algorithms, it advises the best route and suggests the better positioning of the sails. When navigating under engine power, it makes tracing, by commanding the autopilot through NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) messages. The boat was launched in 2009 and since its maiden voyage, from Guarujá to Ilhabela, has used the software that was developed for it.
