Gustavo Mendes de Melo

Gustavo Melo is Professor at the Department of Social Psychology at UFRJ and PPG EICOS, Psychosociology of Communities and Social Ecology, at the Institute of Psychology - UFRJ. Postdoc in Technologies in Support of Natural Resources Management by CIRAD - France, he holds a PhD and a Master's Degree in Psychosociology of Communities and Social Ecology by UFRJ. It coordinates extension activities on Traditional Knowledge and Occupations and interdisciplinary socio-educational processes in support of community organization and social participation for socio-environmental sustainability. He is a researcher associated with the Research Group Biodiversity, Protected Areas and Social Inclusion (CNPq). Teaches courses in initiation and postgraduate studies, supporting the coordination of research and extension projects, preparation of publications, participation in newsstands, organization of scientific events and creation of national and international research networks. As a Social Psychologist, the work focuses is the community themes, participation and social intervention, socio-environmental projects, psychology applied to education, addressing the theme of social organization and public policies related to the theme. It works in partnership with the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement and with CIRAD.

Psicólogo Social, Gustavo Melo é Professor do Departamento de Psicologia Social da UFRJ e do PPG EICOS, Psicossociologia de Comunidades e Ecologia Social, no Instituto de Psicologia - UFRJ. Realizou Postdoc em Tecnologias em Apoio à Gestão de Recursos Naturais pelo CIRAD - França (Programa Ciência Sem Fronteiras), é Doutor e Mestre em Psicossociologia de Comunidades e Ecologia Social pela UFRJ. Coordena atividades de extensão sobre Saberes e Ocupações Tradicionais e Processos socioeducativos interdisciplinares em apoio à organização comunitária e participação social para a sustentabilidade socioambiental. É pesquisador vinculado ao Grupo de Pesquisa Biodiversidade Áreas Protegidas e Inclusão Social (CNPq). Ministra disciplinas na graduação e pós-graduação, coordena pesquisas e projetos de extensão, elabora publicações, participa em bancas, organiza eventos científicos e tece redes de pesquisa nacionais e internacionais. Como Psicólogo Social, a atuação tem como foco as temáticas comunitárias e de participação e intervenção social, projetos socioambientais, psicologia aplicada à educação, abordando a temática da organização social e das políticas públicas relacionadas ao tema. Atua em parceria com o Institut de Recherche pour le Développement e com o CIRAD.
