Maria Anita Mendes

Bachelor's at Quimica from Universidade Estadual de Maringá (1991), master's at Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Maringá (1994) and doctorate at Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (1999). Has experience in Biochemistry, focusing on Chemistry of Macromolecules, acting on the following subjects: mass spectrometry, gas phase reaction, membrane introduction mass spectrometry, ab inition calculation and protein expression. More than ten years hands on experience in mass spectrometry (EI, CI, ESI, MALD ionization methods and Quadrupole and TOF mass analyzers). Ten years hands on HPLC, LC-MS and LC-MS/MS. Experience on Waters/Micromass, Bruker and Shimadzu mass spectrometers and Shimadzu HPLC. Experience in 2D SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, proteomics, peptide mass fingerprint, and Edman degradation chemistry experience in the application of mass spectrometry to solve structure problems of low molecular mass compounds, determination of compound quality and quantify, reaction monitoring, structural determination of peptides. Purification of compounds extracted from crude venom of wasp, spider and wed spider by HPLC. Experience on MALDI Biotyper microorganisms identification
