Adriano Codato is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and holds the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sociology and Politics (https://www.scielo.br/j/rsocp/). He also directs the Observatory of Political and Social Elites, is the founder and president of the Institute for Scientific Communication, and is a researcher for CNPq (1C). From 2018 to 2022, he served as the Deputy Coordinator of the Political Science and International Relations Area at CAPES. He currently serves as the President of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Social Sciences (ANPOCS) and heads the National Science and Technology Institute INCT Representation and Democratic Legitimacy (ReDem) project. Additionally, he is the coordinator of the extension project for the Laboratory of Legislative Practices (LPLegis) at UFPR. Codato recently published the book "Military Dictatorship: Nine Essays on Brazilian Politics" (Editions 70, 2023) and co-edited, with Mateus de Albuquerque, the collection "The Mandarins of Economics: Presidents and Directors of the Central Bank of Brazil" (Editions 70, 2023). His research interests include political representation, political and state elites, political careers, and scientometrics.
Adriano Codato é Professor Associado de Ciência Política na Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). É editor-chefe da Revista de Sociologia e Política (https://www.scielo.br/j/rsocp/), coordena o INCT Representação e Legitimidade Democrática (ReDem) e dirige o Observatório de elites políticas e sociais. É fundador e preside o Instituto pela Comunicação Científica e é pesquisador do CNPq (1C). Foi coordenador adjunto acadêmico da Área de Ciência Política e Relações Internacionais da CAPES (2018-2022). É presidente da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Ciências Sociais (ANPOCS). É coordenador do projeto de extensão do Laboratório de Práticas Legislativas (LPLegis) da UFPR em convênio com a Assembleia Legislativa do Paraná. Publicou recentemente o livro 'Ditadura militar: nove ensaios sobre a política brasileira' (Edições 70, 2023) e organizou, com Mateus de Albuquerque, a coletânea 'Os mandarins da economia: presidentes e diretores do Banco Central do Brasil' (Edições 70, 2023). Seus temas de pesquisa são: representação política, elites políticas e estatais, carreiras políticas e cientometria.
