Jean Carlos Rangel Gavidia
As a skilled Sr Petrophysicist, with an outstanding background in formation evaluation, reservoir characterization, project planning of conventional and unconventional reservoirs, and Geomodeler.
I have 15+ years of experience in Reservoir Petrophysics/Geoscience teams, working closely with Geophysicists, Geologists, Reservoir Engineers, Production Engineers, and Well Integrity Engineers. My educational background includes a MSc degree in Petroleum Production Engineering at The Robert Gordon University, UK and a Bachelor degree of Geological Engineering at Universidad de los Andes, Venezuela, additionally I took a Reservoir Geomechanic online course at Standford University, on top of that I am a teacher ad Honorem in well log Interpretation and Formation Evaluation in a local University (Unellez)
Being comfortable with fast-paced projects and working under high pressure, I enjoy challenges and know the value of teamwork in achieving goals and solving problems. I am highly motivated, enthusiastic and hard-working, and have consistently performed and delivered well above the expectations of my managers and employers. I look forward to share and expand the expertise and knowledge that I acquired in the National Oil Company PDVSA. I am confident that I can help meet the organization?s objectives of innovation, research, planning and development for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production.
Some of my key strengths include:
Sub-surface professional with experience in Team leader, applying cutting-edge petrophysical skills, techniques and technologies to deliver results in operational environments and studies. Ability to deal with people from multicultural environments, good team cooperation, communication and knowledge sharing. Evaluation experience in clastic as well as, carbonate environments. Extensive experience with several reservoir formation evaluation software; Techlog (advanced), Geolog, Geoframe 4.5, Interactive Petrophysics (IP), Petrel RE. Meeting tight schedules, and delivering high quality data on logs and core data. Quality Check, processing, analysis and interpretation of logging data such as Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Dielectric logs, Borehole Image interpretation (e.g. Formation Micro-Imaging Tool logs), Multimineral analysis such as Elemental analysis (ELAN) modelling, Neural Networks Modelling, Acoustic logs (Dipole Sonic Imager and Sonic Scanner tools logs), Production logs and MDT, (Seismic Imager tools), etc. Experience in operational support delivering reliable quality controlled log data. Skilled and experienced in petrophysical input to seismic, static and dynamic models, exploration, appraisal, development planning and reservoir management.
Since march 2020, I am PHD Candidate en Geosciences at UNICAMP, in Sao Paulo Brasil.
