Antonio Carlos Gastaud Maçada

I received my MSc and PhD in Management Information Systems in 1993 and 2001 respectively, from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), which is one of the few Brazilian universities consistently ranked among the top 500 in the world in all prestigious rankings. My BSc degree in Management is from the Fundação Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (1985). I am a member of the Association of Professional Administration membership number CRA: 7736/O. I am currently a Full Professor in the Department of Administrative Science at the School of Management (Escola de Administração - EA) from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). My responsabilities include teaching on both undergraduates and graduate programs (MBA, MSc and PhD courses). I was a visiting professor at the Mays Business School, Texas A&M, USA from 2011 to 2012 and at Antwerp University, Belgium, 2011. I was the President Director of the Brazilian Academy of Management (ANPAD) from 2018 to 2020. I am a former recipient of CNPq's Productive Researcher Grant - a recognition awarded to scholars who achieve high standards in research, human resources formation, and institutional leadership. As a member of societies such as AIS and ANPAD, my research interests are focused on the following topics: Information Technology, IT Impact, IT Investments and IT Governance, Information Governance and Quality, IS Behavior, Workaround and Shadow IT and Logistics Operations Management. I have published in reputed journals such as Maritime Economics & Logistics, Computers & Security, Journal of Enterprise Information Management, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, Supply Chain Management - an International Journal, Journal of Information Systems and Computers in Human Behavior. My administrative experience is: I coordinated the postgraduate program (PPGA/UFRGS) from 2007 to 2008; at ANPAD, I was the division coordinator of Information Management research from 2013 to 2014; member of the Research Commission (Compesq) EA/UFRGS from 2015 to 2017; Coordinator of XL EnANPAD 2016?s doctoral consortium; and head of the research team Information, Information Capabilities and Digital Technologies (ICDT). My international experience includes: international cooperation agreements with CAPES/DAAD from 2004 to 2005; CAPES/FIPSE from 2004 to 2008 and from 2010 to 2013; and CAFP-BA from 2009 to 2012.
