Dr. Bolmaro is a PhD for the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (1986), Argentina. He later on spent 3 years in a post-Doctoral position at Los Alamos National Laboratory. His main expertise is related with mechanical properties of metals, alloys, ceramics and composites. He currently works as a Group Leader of the Group of Condensed Matter II- Materials Science in the Instituto de Física Rosario, Argentina. He is full professor in the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Land Surveyor of the University of Rosario. He teaches several courses in continuum mechanics, X- ray diffraction, texture development and residual strains and stresses, both at under-graduate and doctoral level. He currently pursues several research topics in the field of experimental-theoretical understanding of micro-meso- macro interaction of polycrystalline materials behavior. He is a member of the Editorial board of the PLOS magazine Texture, Stress and Microstructures and referee of Acta Materialia, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Materials Science and Engineering, etc.
Graduated on Licenciatura en Física from Facultad de Ciencias Exactas Ingeniería y Agrimensura- Univ. Nac. Rosario (1980) and Ph.D from Universidad Nacional de La Plata (1986). Has experience in Material and Metallurgical Engineering, focusing on Material and Metallurgical Engineering, acting on the following subjects: texture, plasticity, self consistent models, policrystalline simulation and x ray difraction.
