Rute Andrade Castro

I am a PhD in History from the Federal University of Bahia - UFBA and professor in the European studies at Campus XIV - UNEB, in addition to being linked to the Municipality of Salvador, where I work in the Youth and Adult Education modality. I have research related to ethnocentric culture and ideals of civilization in the First Brazilian Republic. Currently I dedicate myself to British experiences in the worlds of work in Brazil between the 19th and early 20th centuries, in the midst of slavery and free work, in a perspective of Connected Stories .

Sou doutora em História pela Universidade Federal da Bahia - UFBA e professora efetiva no Eixo Curricular Europa no Campus XIV - UNEB, além de vinculada à prefeitura Municipal de Salvador, onde atuo na modalidade Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA). Tenho pesquisas ligadas a cultura e ideais de civilização etnocêntricos na Primeira República brasileira. Atualmente me dedico às experiências britânicas nos mundos do trabalho no Brasil entre os séculos XIX e início do XX, em meio à escravidão e trabalho livre, numa perspectiva de Histórias Conectadas.
