Mauro Cunha Xavier Pinto

Professor at the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Goiás. Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (Biochemical and Molecular Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2014), Master in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2010) and Pharmaceutical-Biochemist from the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and do Mucuri (2008). He was a Post-Doctoral Resident at the University of São Paulo (2014) in the field of Neurochemistry and the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2016) in the field of Pharmacology. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida (2015), working in the neuroscience field. He was vice president of the Nanocell Institute, an entity focused on scientific dissemination, and head of the Department of Pharmacology (ICB / UFG). He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Pharmacology and Therapeutics (SBFTE), a member of the Brazilian Society of Neuroscience and Behavior (SBNeC), and the International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN). He is a tutor in the International Federation of Medical Students' Association-IFMSA exchange program. He is on the faculty of the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences (ICB/UFG) and the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (FF/UFG). He was associate editor of Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, Frontiers in Pharmacology, and Nanocell News. He has experience in the fields of Neuropharmacology and Neurochemistry with a focus on discovering new drugs for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, vascular dementia, and cerebral ischemia.

Professor do Departamento de Farmacologia do Instituto de Ciências Biológicas da Universidade Federal de Goiás. Doutor em Ciências Biológicas (Farmacologia Bioquímica e Molecular) pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2014), Mestre em Ciências Biológicas (Fisiologia e Farmacologia) pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2010) e Farmacêutico-Bioquímico pela Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e do Mucuri (2008). Foi Residente Pós-doutoral na Universidade de São Paulo (2014) na área de Neuroquímica e na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2016) na área de Farmacologia. Também foi Pesquisador Visitante no McKnight Brain Institute da Universidade da Flórida (2015) na área de Neurociências. Foi vice-presidente do Instituto Nanocell, entidade focada em divulgação de científica e chefe do Departamento de Farmacologia (ICB/UFG). É membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Farmacologia e Terapêutica (SBFTE), membro da Sociedade Brasileira de Neurociências e Comportamento (SBNeC) e da International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN). É tutor no programa de intercâmbios da International Federation of Medical Students' Association - IFMSA. Faz parte do corpo docente do Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Biológicas (ICB/UFG) e do Programa de Pós-graduação em Ciências Farmacêuticas (FF/UFG). É líder do Grupo de pesquisa em Neurofarmacologia e Neuroquímica da UFG, certificado pelo CNPQ. Tem experiência nas áreas de Neurofarmacologia e Neuroquímica com foco na descoberta de novas drogas para doença de Alzheimer, doença de Parkinson, demência vascular e isquemia cerebral.
