Master in ecology and biomonitoring from the Universidade Federal da Bahia (2019) and in her thesis she worked with the study of pheromone emission patterns and mating compatibility of fruit flies, and Ms Gomes has a degree in biology from the Uniao Metropolitana de Educacao e Cultura (2016). Ms Gomes has 4 years of experience working as an undergrad research assistant in the biological basis of SIT, particularly sexual behavior and attractiveness to chemical compounds of fruit flies and 1-year experience working as an IAEA intern with phytosanitary treatments using cold against major fruit fly pests.
