Rafael Ouriques Vasconcelos de Moraes

Master in History by the Postgraduate Program in History of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco with the research "Your hair does not deny: The black in Recife's Carnival (1930-1939)". Postgraduate in Teaching and Practice of Teaching in History. Graduated in History from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. My areas of interest are within the Social History of Brazilian and Pernambuco Culture, with an emphasis on the first half of the 20th century. Over the last few years I have been working with the practices and representations of black populations in Afro-descendant history in Brazil, especially within social movements, politics and racism. I am also interested and experienced in the History of Popular Music in Brazil, having some work in this field.

Mestre em História pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em História da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco com a pesquisa "O teu cabelo não nega: O negro no Carnaval do Recife (1930-1939)". Pós-graduado em Docência e Prática de Ensino em História. Graduado em História pela Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco. Minhas áreas de interesse estão dentro da História Social da Cultura brasileira e pernambucana, com ênfase na primeira metade do século XX. Ao longo dos últimos anos venho trabalhando com as práticas e as representações das populações negras na história afrodescendente no Brasil, sobretudo dentro dos movimentos sociais, na política e com o racismo. Tenho também interesse e experiência com a História da Música Popular no Brasil, tendo alguns trabalhos nesse campo.
