Tiago Maritan Ugulino de Araújo

has undergraduate and Masters in Computer Science from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and PhD in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). He is currently a Adjunct Professor in the Computer Institute at UFPB and researcher at the Digital Video Applications (LAViD). Since 2019, he is a Fellow in Productivity in Technological Development and Innovative Extension (DT) - Level 2 of CNPq-Brazil. He coordinates the "Suite VLibras" project (vlibras.gov.br), an open platform for machine translation of Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) content for Digital TV, Web, Cinema and mobile devices, installed in more than 100 thousands webpages, including the Federal Government, Federal Chamber, Senate Federal. With VLibras, he received the National Web Accessibility Award 2016 (Todos @ Web 2016), offered by CGI.br and NIC.br, in the Applications/Assistive Technology category, and the "Latam Smart City Award 2018", in the category "Equity and Collaborative Society". He has experience in the areas of Accessibility in Computer Systems, Assistive Technology, Distributed Multimedia Systems and Digital TV, working mainly on the following topics: machine translation for LIBRAS, automatic generation of audio description and Digital TV.

possui Graduação e Mestrado em Ciências da Computação pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) e Doutorado em Engenharia da Computação pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Atualmente, é Professor do Centro de Informática, pesquisador do Núcleo de Pesquisa e Extensão em Aplicações de Vídeo Digital (LAViD) da UFPB. Desde 2019, é Bolsista de Produtividade em Desenvolvimento Tecnológico e Extensão Inovadora (DT) - Nível 2 do CNPQ. Coordena o projeto Suíte VLibras (vlibras.gov.br), plataforma aberta de tradução automática para LIBRAS para Web, TV Digital, Cinema e dispositivos móveis, instalada em mais de 100 mil páginas Web, incluindo os sites do Governo Federal, Câmara Federal, Senado Federal. Com o VLibras, recebeu o Prêmio Nacional de Acessibilidade na Web 2016 (Todos@Web 2016), oferecido pelo CGI.br e NIC.br, na categoria Aplicativos/Tecnologia Assistiva, e o Prêmio Latam Smart City Award 2018, na categoria "Sociedade Equitativa e Colaborativa". Tem experiência nas áreas de Acessibilidade em Sistemas Computacionais, Tecnologia Assistiva, Sistemas Multimídia Distribuídos e TV Digital, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: tradução automática para LIBRAS, geração automática de audiodescrição e TV Digital.
