André Meyer Alves de Lima

André Meyer holds a PhD in Science by UFRJ. Master in Science and Art by UFF. He is currently Associate Professor II at UFRJ working in the Dance Graduate Program, Science History Graduate Program besides with the coordination of the Laboratory of Image and Creation in Dance and in the direction of the Contemporary Dance Company of UFRJ. In his artistic trajectory, he acted as performer, choreographer, director and screenwriter at the 1st International Symposium A Danza e sua Integracion Latino-Americana and II Festival Latino-Americano de Danza Contemporânea - both held in Mexico City in 1991 and 1992; at the 25th Weltkongress des International Theaterinstitute, in Munich, Germany in 1993, which was attended by Pina Bausch and her Wuppertal Tanz Theater. In 1998, he was awarded at the IX Tápias Dance Festival. In 1999, he taught a course at the Classics and General Humanities Department at MontClair State University in New Jersey in the USA. Participated in the 2005 L Année du Brésil en France; the 9th edition of the Festival de Poésie Voix de La Méditerranée in Lodève, France in 2006 - an event that featured Fanny Ardant; the Festival Recontre Poésie - Poésies - Printemps des Poètes in Hyères, France in 2007; Rencontres Soirées Littéraires at Maison Jules Verne in Amiens, France in 2008. In 2011, he presented the show Transições at the 2nd FAPERJ Science, Technology and Innovation Fair. In 2012, he exhibited the videodance Passo a Passo / Pas à Pas at the Center Culturel de Cerisy La Salle in France. Held screenings of the documentary Dançar: a film about the life and work of Helenita Sá Earp in different regions of the country, with emphasis on screenings held during the 8th ABRACE Congress in 2014 and the 5th ANDA Congress in 2016. In 2016, was part of the opening of the 15th Encuentro Internacional de Danza y Artes Contemporâneas in Asunción/PY. In 2017, it held seasons at CCO/RJ and at Teatro Armando Gonzaga through the awards obtained in the 1st Edict Support for GARINS of FCC/UFRJ, in the Edict of Support to Production and Dissemination of the Arts of FAPERJ in 2016 and in the Edict of Occupation of Theaters of the State by FUNARJ. In 2018, he held the Journée d études autour des Fondamentaux de la Danse by Helenita Sá Earp at Université Lille 3, taught a Master Class at the Conservatorie de Musique et Danse de Lille and the screening of the documentary Dançar at Maison de L Amérique Latine in Paris. In 2019, he presented the show Influxos at the Artistic Show at the VI National Meeting of ANDA at the Goethe Institut in Salvador, by II FESTFIC, with the performance Corpos Híbridos in the Gardens of Palácio do Catete, the Ocupação 100 Anos Helenita Sá Earp at Teatro Cacilda Becker by FUNARTE and coordinated the Soirée IntegrArtes Internacional 100 anos Helenita Sá Earp at Vila Residencial da UFRJ. Participated in the International Festival Paraty em Foco. In 2020, he held the Corpos Híbridos Photographic Exhibition at Parque das Ruínas and was awarded by FUNARTE with the work Grafias Moventes. In 2021, he coordinated the Artistic Exhibition of the 1st International Meeting of Popular Education. In 2022, he participated in the organization of the Popular Conference for the Right to the City of approximately 30 Conversation Circles at the Preparatory Events in Rio de Janeiro that culminated in the final document that was delivered to President Lula. He was contemplated within the framework of the ESCALA Teaching Program Public Notice, to work at the National University of Asunción/PY and presented 3 dance and contemporary music performances at the Participatory Pre-Conference on the Integrated Plan for Integrated Environmental Recovery of Guanabara Bay held at the Iate Paquetá Island Club. He recently received the PROART Artistic Residencies Award 2023. He has experience in the field of Dance, working on the following topics: Fundamentals of Dance by Helenita Sá Earp, Science and Art and Ecoperformativity.

André Meyer é Doutor em Ciências na Área de Concentração em Educação, Difusão e Gestão em Biociências pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Química Biológica da UFRJ. Mestre em Ciência da Arte pela UFF. Atualmente é Professor Associado II da UFRJ atuando no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Dança da UFRJ e no Programa de Pós Graduação em História das Ciências e das Técnicas e Epistemologia da UFRJ, juntamente com a coordenação do Laboratório de Imagem e Criação em Dança e na direção da Companhia de Dança Contemporânea da UFRJ. Na sua trajetória atuou como intérprete, coreógrafo, diretor e roteirista no 1Simpósio Internacional A Danza e sua Integracion Latino-Americana e II Festival Latino-Americano de Danza Contemporânea - ambos realizados na cidade do México em 1991 e 1992; no 25 Weltkongress des International Theaterinstitute, em Munique na Alemanha em 1993, que contou com a presença de Pina Bausch e seu Wuppertal Tanz Theater. Em 1998, foi premiado no IX Festival de Dança Tápias. Em 1999, ministrou um curso no Classics and General Humanities Department da MontClair State University em New Jersey nos EUA. Realizou exibições do documentário Dançar: um filme sobre a vida e obra de Helenita Sá Earp em diferentes regiões do país, onde se destacam as exibições realizadas na programação do VIII Congresso da ABRACE em 2014 e no V Congresso da ANDA em 2016. Em 2016, integrou a abertura do 15 Encuentro Internacional de Danza y Artes Contemporâneas em Assunção/PY. Em 2017, realizou temporadas no CCO/RJ e no Teatro Armando Gonzaga através das premiações obtidas no 1 Edital Apoio aos GARINS do FCC/UFRJ, no Edital de Apoio à Produção e Divulgação das Artes da FAPERJ em 2016 e no Edital de Ocupação dos Teatros do Estado pela FUNARJ. Em 2018 realizou a Journée d études autour des Fondamentaux de la Danse de Helenita Sá Earp na Université Lille 3, ministrou uma Master Class no Conservatorie de Musique et Danse de Lille e a exibição do documentário Dançar na Maison de L Amérique Latine em Paris. Em 2021, coordenou a Mostra Artística do I Encontro Internacional de Educação Popular. Em 2022, participou na organização da Conferência Popular pelo Direito a Cidade. Através da construção coletiva de aproximadamente 30 Rodas de Conversa nos Eventos Preparatórios do Rio de Janeiro que culminaram no documento final que foi entregue ao presidente Lula. Em 2022, foi contemplado no marco do Edital Programa ESCALA Docente, para atuar na Universidade Nacional de Assunção/PY. Apresentou 3 performances de dança e música contemporânea na Pré Conferência Participativa sobre o Plano Integrado de Recuperação Ambiental Integrada da Baía de Guanabara. Recentemente recebeu o Prêmio PROART Residências Artísticas 2023.
