Philipe de Souto Barreto
Philipe de Souto Barreto, Researcher (PhD), has obtained his undergraduate diploma in physical activity (ESEF-UPE, 2003 ? Brazil), a 2-year MSci in exercise and health (UNIA, 2007 ? Spain), and a 1-year MSci (2007) and a PhD (2010) in Biological Anthropology (Univ Aix-Marseille, France). He has been actively working for the last 10 years in the research field of physical activity and exercise for the elderly, focusing on both preventive strategies for a healthy ageing and exercise in clinical populations (particularly, people with dementia). He has led, in 2015, an international taskforce on the elaboration of recommendations of exercise for institutionalized older adults. His scientific projects in the field of geriatrics have been funded by public Institutions and Organisations in France and in Europe. He is editorial board member of international scientific journals and has published several articles in high-impact, international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. de Souto Barreto is currently the Associate Coordinator of the Instute on Aging of the Geontopole of the Toulouse University Hospital.
