Possui graduação em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Estadual do Ceará (1971), mestrado em Produção e Reprodução Ovina pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1975), doutorado em Fisiologia da Reprodução - Universite de Paris IV (Paris-Sorbonne) (1982) e pós-doutorado em Fisiologia da Reprodução - Station de Physiologie de la Reproduction (Nouzilly-França). Foi consultor em Difusão Tecnológica do Curso de Veterinária do CESMAC, Chefe do Laboratório de Tecnologia do Sêmen Caprino e Ovino do Núcleo Integrado de Biotecnologia da UECE, Professor Visitante do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Veterinárias (PPGCV) da UECE, Docente do Programa Profissional de Pós-Graduação em Saúde Humana e Animal (PPGBiotec/UECE) e Docente do Programa de Doutorado em Biotecnologia (RENORBIO/UECE). Atualmente é Professor Emérito da UECE. Tem experiência na área de Medicina Veterinária, com ênfase em Inseminação Artificial Animal, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: água de coco, caprinos, sêmen, inseminação artificial e ovinos.E-mail contato: nunesuece@gmail.com.

He was a consultant in Technological Diffusion of the CESMAC Veterinary Course, Head of the Laboratory of Goats and Sheep Sperm Technology of the Integrated Center for Biotechnology (NIB/UECE), Visiting Professor of the Postgraduate Programme of Veterinary Science (PPGCV/UECE), Professor of the Professional Program in Human and Animal Health (PPGBiotec/UECE), and Professor of the Doctoral Program in Biotechnology (RENORBIO/UECE). He is currently Professor Emeritus at UECE.
