Professor Sênior do Departamento de Engenharia de Produção da Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo, onde coordena o Laboratório de Gestão da Inovação, que desenvolve pesquisas, cursos e, via NAGI (Núcleo de Apoio à Gestão da Inovação, criado em projeto Finep), apoia a implantação e melhoria de sistemas de organização e gestão da inovação em empresas estabelecidas (atualmente, contrato com a Polícia Federal) e apoia empreendedores de empresas intensivas em conhecimento a mitigar incertezas nos ecossistemas de negócios. Coordenador do Observatório da Inovação e Competitividade do Instituto de Estudos Avançados da USP, um dos Núcleos de Apoio à Pesquisa da USP, constituído a partir de edital competitivo com referees externos, dedicado a políticas públicas de inovação e desenvolvimento produtivo, em conjunto com pesquisadores de Sociologia, Direito, Engenharia, Administração e Medicina.
