Giselle Ferreira Ottoni Candido

Agronomical Engineer from UFV, M.Sc, in Plant Pathology from UnB and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of California - Riverside, USA, is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Goiás, where held the position of Vice President of Extension and Culture (2014-2018). Among other functions, was Chief of Staff at the Higher Education Secretariat of the Ministry of Education - SESU / MEC, operating at all levels of the Brazilian Department of Education (2012/2013). Research Coordinator at the UFG School of Agronomy (2013) and Extension Coordinator at the Pro-Rectory of Extension and Culture (2006/2012). Research in the area of ​​plant disease resistance, soybean rust, chemical control and university extension/community outreach. Advised master's and doctoral theses, curricular internships, and participated in boards at different levels. Coordinated the PROBEC Extension and Culture Scholarship Program at UFG from 2006 to 2012. Presided the Commission for Interaction with Society at EA/UFG and coordinated the Sustainable Development Program for Family Agriculture, financed by MEC, included in PROEXT 2005. General coordinator of Agro Centro Oeste, a Business and Rural Technology Fair in the Midwest, an event in which she participated for 10 years involving the partnership between UFG and the federal, state and municipal, Sebrae, Federation of Agriculture of the State of Goiás and Federation of Agricultural Workers in the State of Goiás. Coordinated a training project for family farmers with the PNAE/FNDE, which resulted in the formation of CECANE at UFG. Participated in the selection committee of PROEXT-Cultura 2007/MEC. Coordinated the Goiás Ballroom Dance Cooperative and organized the I Brazilian Congress of Samba in Goiás in 2009. Worked on the creation and development of SIEC, Information System for Extension and Culture , which managed the extension actions registered at the university and offers management tools and website creation for the actions. The system made it possible to register more than 1800 extension actions in this period. Chaired the committee of the Congress of Research, Teaching and Extension at UFG, Conpeex 2010. In 2011 chaired the Local Organizing Committee of the 63rd Annual Meeting of the SBPC. In 2012, participated in the Brazilian delegation to discuss the Science without Borders Program in a visit to 21 higher education institutions in the USA, organized by CAPES, CNPq and the American Embassy. Vice President of Extension and Culture from 2014 to 2017; during her tenure, UFG took the position of second Brazilian university in total resources obtained in the PROEXT public notice for extension and first in number of approved programs. As editor of Revista UFG, she transferred her publication to the online platform in the OJS system. Oversaw consistent and incremental growth of registered extension projects from 350 to 2,000+ while leading the University to leverage the fund-raising and reach the first place in the country. Identified opportunities and established policies and strategies to guarantee a reciprocal relationship between community and university, providing connections between professors, students and society. Likewise, also promoted coordinated, strengthened and disseminated engagement, extension, information to the public and cultural actions developed by the university and the community. Organized and systematized two 5-year strategic plans to build two 5-year Institutional Development Plans (PDI?s), respectively 2011-2015 and 2018-2022. Allso prepared the University report for the Institutional Evaluation, which obtained grade maximum from the Brazilian Department of Education (Ministério da Educação ? MEC). The experience with the University strategic planning included establishing of adequate indicators used in evaluation and opportunity assessments
