graduate of Matematics from University of California, Berkeley (1974) and Ph.D. in Matematics from University of Washington (1983). Has experience in Mathematics, focusing on Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory, investigating the following subjects: small-scale structure of fractal sets,
scenery flow, average density, nonstationary hyperbolic dynamics, nonstationary subshifts of finite type, adic transformations,
unique ergodicity, interval exchange transformations, Markov partitions, Julia sets, Brownian motion, stable and renewal processes,
infinite measure ergodic theory.

Atualmente é professor associado da Universidade de São Paulo.
