Bernardo Penna Resende de Carvalho

is analyst at Central Bank of Brazil since 2010, in Department of Infrastructure, located in Brasília. He has been involved in corporate project management for the modernization of the Central Bank's infrastructure since 2012, having obtained PMP (Project Management Professional) certification in 2013. He was coordinator of Planning and Monitoring Subdivision from 2014 to 2015 and head of the Planning, Budget and Standards Division from 2015 to 2018. Since June 2018, has held the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Infrastructure, working in the areas of planning, budgeting, standards and documentation.He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from UFMG (2003) and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from UFMG (2005) in the field of Computer Engineering. He attended 7 semesters of Law at UFMG from 2007 to 2010 until taking office at the Central Bank in Brasília.He worked in the area of Artificial Intelligence from 2000 to 2010, having participated in research projects and the development of intelligent systems in various industrial branches. From 2000 to 2003, he was a CNPq Fellow at the Computational Intelligence Laboratory of UFMG. From 2003 to 2006, he was an artificial intelligence engineer at Vetta Technologies and Vetta Labs. From 2006 to 2010, he was Research and Development Manager at Ottimah Process Improvements, ABG Information Systems and the Brazilian Institute of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics (ItB3). During this period, he published articles related to Artificial Intelligence, Industrial Process Optimization and Bioinformatics in international congresses, journals and books. Since 2005, he has been a reviewer of Neural Processing Letters and Pattern Recognition Letters.

Foi coordenador da Subdivisão de Planejamento e Acompanhamento Orçamentário de 2014 a 2015 e chefe da Divisão de Planejamento, Orçamento e Normas de 2015 a 2018. Desde junho de 2018, ocupa o cargo de chefe adjunto do Departamento de Infraestrutura e Gestão Patrimonial, atuando nas áreas de planejamento, orçamento, normas e documentação. Possui graduação em Engenharia Elétrica pela UFMG (2003) e mestrado em Engenharia Elétrica pela UFMG (2005), na área de Engenharia da Computação. Cursou 7 semestres de Direito na UFMG, de 2007 a 2010, até tomar posse no Banco Central, em Brasília. Trabalhou na área de Inteligência Artificial de 2000 a 2010, tendo participado de projetos de pesquisa e do desenvolvimento de sistemas inteligentes em diversos ramos industriais. De 2000 a 2003, foi bolsista do CNPq no Laboratório de Inteligência Computacional da UFMG. De 2003 a 2006, foi engenheiro de inteligência artificial nas empresas Vetta Technologies e Vetta Labs. Posteriormente, de 2006 a 2010, foi Gerente de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento nas empresas Ottimah Process Improvements, ABG Sistemas da Informação e Instituto Brasileiro de Biotecnologia e Bioinformática (ItB3).
