Graduado em Engenharia Elétrica em 1992 pela EFEI, hoje UNIFEI, onde obteve também os títulos de Mestre em Engenharia da Energia em 2005 e de Doutor em Engenharia Elétrica em 2013.
Atualmente é Professor Adjunto na Universidade Federal de Itajubá - UNIFEI, pertencente ao quadro de professores do ISEE - Instituto de Sistemas Elétricos e Energia e membro do EXCEN - Centro de Excelência em Eficiência Energética.
É coordenador do PRH46.1 - Programa de Recursos Humanos da ANP.
