Maria Isabel Brito Valente

Degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto in 1997. Master in Civil Engineering Structures from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, concluded in June 2000. PhD in Civil Engineering Structures from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, completed in July 2007, supervised by Professor Paulo Jorge Sousa Cruz.Idabel Valente has experience in the areas of steel and composite structures and experimental structural analysis. Her main research interests focus on the analysis and design of steel structures and composite structures in steel-concrete, on the behavior of the connection between steel and concrete and between concrete and polymeric materials reinforced with fibres. She has developed research in the area of steel and concrete composite structures in partnership with researchers from UFV, UFB and UFMG since 2005.

Licenciada em Engenharia Civil pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto em 1997. Mestrado em Estruturas de Engenharia Civil pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto,concluído em Junho de 2000. Doutoramento em Estruturas de Engenharia Civil pela escola de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho, concluído em Julho de 2007, orientada pelo Professor Doutor Paulo Jorge Sousa Cruz. Tem experiência nas áreas de Estruturas Metálicas e Mistas e Análise Experimental de Estruturas. Os seus principais interesses de investigação centram-se na análise e dimensionamento de estruturas metálicas e estruturas mistas em aço-concreto, no comportamento da conexão e ligações aço-concreto e no comportamento de ligações entre concreto e materiais poliméricos reforçados com fibras. Tem desenvolvido pesquisas na área de estruturas mistas de aço e concreto em parceria com pesquisadores da UFV e da UFMG desde 2005.
