André Luiz Gomes de Carvalho

Biólogo dedicado a pesquisa da biodiversidade e evolução de vertebrados neotropicais, como foco em répteis e anfíbios. Possui os títulos de bacharel e licenciado em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro (2006), mestre em Zoologia pelo Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (2009) e Ph.D. em "Comparative Biology" pela Richard Gilder Graduate School, American Museum of Natural History (2015). Pós-doutorado financiado pela Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP) voltado à filogenômica e biogeografia histórica de lagartos sulamericanos na Universidade de São Paulo (USP), University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), e University of Washington, Seattle (UW). Atualmente é "acting instructor" do Biology Department da University of Washington, Seattle.

I am a Biologist dedicated to researching the biodiversity and evolution of Neotropical vertebrates, with a focus on reptiles and amphibians. I hold a bachelor's degree and teaching certification in Biological Sciences from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (2006), a master's degree in Zoology from the Brazilian National Museum, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2009), and a Ph.D. in Comparative Biology from the Richard Gilder Graduate School, American Museum of Natural History (2015). I was a postdoctoral fellow of the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), working on the phylogenomics and historical biogeography of South American lizards at the University of São Paulo (USP), University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), and University of Washington, Seattle (UW). I am currently an acting Instructor at the Department of Biology at the University of Washington, Seattle.
