Vitalii Chaban

I am presently the CAPES fellow under the Science Without Borders initiative of Brazilian government.I develop and apply mathematical methods to bring insights into multiple problems in chemistry, physics and biology. I do research in a large number of fields including carbonaceous nanomaterials, quantum dots, nanoparticles, composite materials, electrolyte solutions, ionic and molecular liquids, lipid and protein model systems, drug delivery vehicles, lipid droplets, cellular entities, nanoscale explosives (see the buckybomb), green solvents, etc. The ongoing research actively uses approaches of quantum mechanics, ab initio trajectory propagation, and versatile flavors of molecular dynamics at the electronic, atomistic and supra-atomistic levels of precision. We apply and develop empirical models for reactive molecular dynamics simulations, as well as for more conventional non-reactive molecular dynamics simulations (see families of imidazolium, pyridinium, piperidinium, amino acid based ionic liquids, etc).Collaboration requests from experimentalists in physical chemistry and nanotechnology are very welcome.
