Jutta Gertrud Anna Gutberlet

Born in Germany and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, Jutta Gutberlet completed a PhD in Geography, in 1990, from the Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany. She is now Full Professor in Geography at the University of Victoria, in Canada (UVic). Her work focuses on sustainable livelihoods, co-management and poverty reduction in the context of the global South. She teaches in the fields of Social and Development Geography. She has recently published the book: Urban Recycling Cooperatives: Building Resilient Communities (Routledge Taylor & Francis Group). Dr. Gutberlet is the director of the Community-based Research Laboratory at UVic and principal investigator in several international research projects.

Possui doutorado em Geografia Humana - Eberhard Karls Universitaet Tuebingen (1990). Atualmente é livre docênte na - University of Victoria. Tem experiência na área de Geografia Humana, com ênfase em Desenvolvimento sustentavel comunitário. Ela é Professora Titular em Geografia da Universidade de Victoria, no Canadá (UVic). Ela leciona nos campos da geografia social e de desenvolvimento. Ela publicou recentemente o livro: "Cooperativas de catadores: construindo comunidades resilientes (Routledge Taylor & Francis Group). Dr. Gutberlet é o diretor do Laboratório de Pesquisa Comunitária na UVIC e é pesquisadora principal em vários projetos internacional.
