Luciano Pighinelli currently is an R&D scientist at NOVVO Natural Products Trade company (www.novvo.com.br) and R&D project manager of Biomatter Ind. R&D of Biomaterials company. Currently work in R&D and innovation of biomaterials such: Nano metallic plasmonic colloids (Ag, Cu, Au, Zn, Niobium) applied for regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and disinfection. bioactive nano ceramics; nano scaffolds for hard and soft tissue repair; musculoskeletal tissue engineering; bones; cartilage, nano bio composite complexes with essential oils from Brazilian flora, biomaterials production from fish scales, chitin and chitosan, a surface modification for cells adhesion and natural bio composites for medical, pharmaceutical, dentistry and food applications. until 02/2019 was an Associate Professor in the Postgraduate Program in Toxicology and Genetics and Materials Engineering at the Lutheran University of Brazil. Lectures in the field of materials science; projects; quality and production management; biotechnology topics; process engineering; products development. He graduated in materials science (Polymers), and a master's degree in materials engineering at the same university. In 2013, he completed his doctorate in biomaterials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering at the University of Innsbruck - Austria, in cooperation with the Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibers in Lodz, Poland, by the Marie Curie Initial Training Network (STEP-ITN) European Community's 7th Framework Program FP7/2007-2013 under Grant Agreement No. 214015. It has several articles, projects, and patents in the research and development of biomaterials in the area of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
