Doutor em Comunicação e Linguagens - Área de Cinema e Audiovisual - PPGCOM/UTP - 2018. Recebeu apoio da Taxa Capes Prosup. Mestre em Tecnologia pelo PPGTE/UTFPR-2002. Especialista em Ciências da Computação - Computação Gráfica Aplicada - PUC/PR-1995. Graduado em Engenharia Mecânica pela UFPR - 1989. Professor do Curso de Pós-Graduação em Narrativas Visuais da UTFPR. Professor do Curso de Pós-Graduação em Intermídias Visuais da UTP. Foi professor do Curso de Cinema e Vídeo da Faculdade de Artes da Universidade Estadual do Paraná (FAP/UNESPAR). É membro fundador dirige/dirigiu diversas entidades do setor audiovisual, como: ABRANIMA - Associação Brasileira das Empresas de Animação; ABCA - Associação Brasileira de Cinema de Animação; BRAVI - Associação Brasileira de Produtores Independentes de Televisão; SIAPAR - Sindicato da Indústria Audiovisual do Paraná; AVEC - Associação de Vídeo e Cinema do Paraná. É o criador da turma de personagens BRICHOS (www.brichos.com.br). Criador do personagem POING. Cineasta, atua como Roteirista, Diretor, Animador e Produtor através da sua empresa Tecnokena (www.tecnokena.com.br). Entre seus trabalhos se destacam: os longas-metragem BRICHOS; BELOWARS, A ARTE DA ANIMAÇÃO e BRICHOS A FLORESTA É NOSSA; a série televisiva BRICHOS; o game BRICHOS; o multimídia LEMINSKI; os curtas PAX, O POETA, CURITIBA EM BUSCA DA IDENTIDADE PERDIDA, entre outros. Paulo Munhoz tem obras selecionadas e premiadas em Festivais nacionais e internacionais com destaque para os 2 Prêmios de Melhor Filme no Festival Anima Mundi (filme Pax em 2006) e o Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro de 2013, categoria animação (filme Brichos A Floresta é Nossa).
