Dr. Osmar Pinto Neto

Professor and Researcher at Universidade Anhembi Morumbi; He holds a Post-Doctorate in Neuromuscular Physiology at the University of Florida and Texas A&M University, where he developed important work on brain-muscle coherence (Journal of Neurophysiology, 2010). He also has a Master's and Doctorate in Biomedical Engineering (Univap/sandwich at Wayne State University) and a degree in Applied Mathematics (Jacksonville State University) and Physical Education (Univap). During the Covid-19 pandemic, he worked intensively on the mathematical modeling of the virus? propagation to generate weekly forecasts of the need for ICU beds for the city of São José dos Campos - SP. The model was featured in several scientific dissemination media, including Nature News and Revista Super Interessante, and it was published in the Nature Communications and the Journal of Clinical Virology. He has experience in the areas of Neuroscience, Biomechanics, Motor Control, Epidemiological Models (Covid-19), among others.

Durante a pandemia da Covid-19, trabalhou intensamente na modelagem matemática da dispersão do vírus para gerar previsões da necessidade por semana de leitos de UTI para prefeitura de São Jose dos Campos - SP. O modelo original desenvolvido foi destaque em diversas mídias de divulgação cientifica, incluindo a Nature News e a Revista Super Interessante e foi publicado na Nature Communications e no Journal of Clinical Virology. Tem experiência nas áreas de Neurociência, Biomecânica, Controle Motor, Modelos Epidemiológicos (Covid-19), entre outras.
