Kátia Regina Alves Nunes

Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering at UERJ (1988) / Specialization in Work Safety Engineering at UFRJ (1999) / M.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Project Management) at UFF (1991) / D.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at COPPE/UFRJ (2004), with a doctorate-sandwich at the Technische Hochschule Karlsruhe (Germany). She completed postdoctoral studies at the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt - Germany) between 2005/2007. Between 1992 and 2020, as engineer of the Rio de Janeiro Council Administration, she performed more than 10,000 preventive and emergency technical surveys in residential, commercial, irregular constructions (favelas) and infrastructure works in this municipality, verifying serious pathologies and risk situations, as well as identifying and avoiding possible disasters and environmental (technological and natural) accidents. She has taken part on municipal environmental chambers for the elaboration and implementation of solid waste management in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was conducted with the local competent environmental agency and urban cleaning company research on circular economy (waste management, recycling, urban metabolism and self sufficiency of resources) and sustainability in civil construction. She has professional experience in the area of ​​environment, civil construction, life cycle assessment (LCA), circular economy, solid waste, sustainability, resource management, reverse logistics and disaster management. She has numerous national and international publications. Reviewer of different national and international journals related to environmental issues (Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Waste Management, Journal of Environmental Engineering, among others). She was the principal proponent of approved projects of academic exchange between Brazil and Germany (Probal Project - CAPES / DAAD, Science without Borders - CNPq and Project UNEP / COPPE-UFRJ / TU Darmstadt). Member of ISWA (International Solid Waste Association) and DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).

Possui graduação em Engenharia Civil pela UERJ (1988), especialização em Engenharia de Segurança do Trabalho pela UFRJ (1999), Mestrado em Engenharia de Produção Civil (Gerenciamento de Projetos) pela UFF (1992) e Doutorado em Engenharia Ambiental / Produção pela COPPE/UFRJ (2004), sendo com doutorado-sandwich na Technische Hochschule Karlsruhe (Alemanha) . Realizou Pós-Doutorado na Technische Universität Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) (Alemanha) entre 2005/2007. Entre 1992 e 2020, como engenheira concursada da Prefeitura da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, realizou mais de 10.000 vistorias técnicas preventivas e emergenciais em imóveis residenciais, comerciais, construções irregulares e obras de infra-estrutura neste município, verificando patologias graves e situações de risco, bem como identificando e evitando possíveis desastres e acidentes ambientais (tecnológicos e naturais). Participou de câmaras ambientais municipais para a elaboração e implantação da gestão de resíduos sólidos no município do Rio de Janeiro. Realiza pesquisas junto com órgão ambiental competente e empresa de limpeza urbana sobre economia circular (gestão de resíduos, reciclagem, metabolismo urbano e autosuficiência de recursos) e sustentabilidade na construção civil neste município. Orientou vários alunos de graduação e mestrado de universidades alemãs e brasileiras (TU Darmstadt, UFRJ, CEFET-RJ e UVA). Tem experiência profissional na área de meio ambiente, construção civil, avaliação de ciclo de vida (ACV), economia circular, resíduos sólidos, sustentabilidade, construção sustentável, gestão de recursos, logística reversa e gerenciamento de desastres. Possui inúmeras publicaçoes nacionais e internacionais, sendo algumas resultados de trabalho conjunto com destacados pesquisadores. Revisora de diferentes revistas e jornais nacionais e internacionais ligados a área ambiental (Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Waste Management, Journal of Environmental Engineering, entre outros). Foi proponente principal de projetos aprovados de intercâmbio acadêmico entre Brasil e Alemanha (Probal - CAPES/DAAD, Ciência sem Fronteiras - CNPq e Projeto UNEP/COPPE-UFRJ/TU Darmstadt). Membro do ISWA (International Solid Waste Association), Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation e DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).
