Thiane Nunes

Thiane Nunes is a PhD student in Visual Arts, with emphasis on History, Theory and Criticism from the Graduate Program of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She is currently developing a thesis that analyzes the misogyny, the cultural patriarchate and the invisibility of the female artist, with interest in historiographic records and revisionism, especially in the period comprising the Historical Vanguards and disparate modernisms. She is a member of the extension projects and study group Art & Feminism and Feminism and Art History (UFRGS). She works from a social and feminist perspective of art, pointing out questions in relation to the canon and practicing the disturbance of discourses and narratives made by official historiography. Author of the book Grotesque Settings: from Art to Advertising (ISBN 85-89344-03-7). It researches the issues of presence and absence in art, as well as the different regimes of representation. Also acts in the investigation of poetics and records of urban archeology (URBEX). As an artist, she is a member of the EX group, participates in collective projects involving musical performances and interdisciplinary urban interventions. She is an educator and lecturer in art history courses in the cultural area Fora da Asa. Has book, translations, interviews and articles published in the country and abroad.

Thiane Nunes é doutora em Artes Visuais, com ênfase em História, Teoria e Crítica pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Pesquisa as questões da presença e ausência na arte, bem como os diferentes regimes de representação. Desenvolve pesquisas que analisam a misoginia, o patriarcado cultural e a invisibilidade da artista feminina, com interesse pelos registros historiográficos, especialmente no período que compreende as Vanguardas Históricas e modernismos díspares. É integrante dos projetos de extensão e grupo de estudos Arte & Feminismo e Feminismo e História da Arte. É membro da Comissão Científica da Associação Nacional dos Pesquisadores em Artes Plásticas (ANPAP) desde 2020. Atua numa perspectiva social e feminista da arte, apontando questões relativas ao cânone e praticando a perturbação dos discursos e narrativas feitas. pela historiografia oficial. Como artista, é integrante do grupo EX, participa de projetos coletivos, envolvendo performances musicais e intervenções urbanas interdisciplinares. Atua como educadora e ministrante de cursos em história da arte no espaço cultural Fora da Asa. Possui livro, traduções, entrevistas e artigos publicados, no país e exterior.
