Paula Birocchi

Doutoranda (2018-2022) em Oceanografia pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Mestre em Oceanografia Física pelo Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Sou oceanógrafa, formada no Bacharelado em Oceanografia na Universidade de São Paulo (USP), Brasil. Realizei intercâmbio no Reino Unido com duração de 1 ano e 3 meses em Bangor University, Gales (UK). Fui estagiária com bolsa em 3 projetos na Universidade de São Paulo. O primeiro faz parte do Projeto Cultura e Extensão da USP no qual trabalhei com dados de satélites, mídia interativa e educação ambiental. O segundo foi minha Iniciação Cientiífica (IC) no Laboratório de Dinâmica Ocêanica (LaDO) com bolsa da PETROBRAS pela FUNDESPA voltada a caracterização oceanográfica física da Bacia de Campos, principalmente no tratamento de dados de CTD, desenvolvimento de perfis oceanográficos com o uso de ferramentas como MATLAB e Python. Tenho interesse em relações oceanográficas multidisciplinares com foco em Física e Biologia. Participei da empresa júnior do Instituto Oceanográfico da USP (IO Júnior) por um ano e meio e tenho experiência em organização e divulgação de eventos. Fui estagiária com bolsa FAPESP na área de Oceanografia Física. Trabalhei com a água modal subtropical no sudoeste do Atlântico Sul e com o estudo da sua relação com a concentração nutrientes e clorofila-a no oceano. Tenho inglês fluente e sou formada pela escola Pentagon, de Campinas, SP. Tenho o teste de proficiencia TOEFL. Ministrei aulas de inglês na escola Whiz English em São Paulo e também aulas particulares durante o segundo semestre de 2014. Durante o mestrado, trabalhei com poluição marinha, decaimento bacteriano (Enterococos , E.coli e Coliformes termotolerantes), dispersão de poluentes no canal de São Sebastião no estado de São Paulo. Estou realizando o doutorado em Oceanografia Física com pretensão de realizar doutorado sanduíche fora do país.

PhD candidate (2018-2022) in Oceanography by the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. Master in Physical Oceanography from the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (USP). I am an oceanographer, graduated in Oceanography at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. I held a 1-year and 3-month UK exchange in Bangor University, Wales (UK). I was a trainee with a scholarship in 3 projects at the University of São Paulo. The first is part of the Culture and Extension Project of USP in which I worked with satellite data, interactive media and environmental education. The second was my Scientific Initiation (IC) at the Ocean Dynamics Laboratory (LaDO) with a PETROBRAS grant from FUNDESPA aimed at the physical oceanographic characterization of the Campos Basin, mainly in the treatment of CTD data, development of oceanographic profiles using tools such as MATLAB and Python. I am interested in multidisciplinary oceanographic relations focusing on Physics and Biology. I participated in the junior company of the Institute of Oceanography of USP (IO Júnior) for a year and a half and I have experience in organizing and publicizing events. I was intern with FAPESP scholarship in the area of ​​Physical Oceanography. I worked with the subtropical modal water in the southwest of the South Atlantic and with the study of its relation with the concentration of nutrients and chlorophyll in the ocean. I have fluent English and I am formed by the Pentagon school, Campinas, SP. I have the TOEFL proficiency test. During the master's degree, I worked with marine pollution, bacterial decay (Enterococcus, E.coli and thermotolerant Coliform), dispersion of pollutants in the canal of Whiz. São Sebastião in the state of São Paulo. I am doing my PhD in Physical Oceanography with the intention of doing a doctorate sandwich outside the country to collaborate with other scientific groups.
