Dmitry Melnikov

Dmitry Melnikov graduated from the Department of Physics of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (2003), and obtained his PhD in Physics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (2008). He also obtained a Russian equivalent of the PhD degree in Physics from Moscow State University (2006). From 2008 till 2011 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the particle physics group at Tel Aviv University. Since 2011 he is a long term visiting professor at the International Institute of Physics, UFRN. Dmitry Melnikov has experience in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, focusing on High Energy Theory and Quantum Field Theory in application to: string theory, holography, topological quantum field theories and knot theory.

Possui diploma do curso de graduação e curso de pós-graduação em física com a especialização em física teórica da Universidade Estatal de Moscou (Lomonosov Moscow State University). Possui doutorado em Física da Universidade Rutgers (The State University of New Jersey) (2008). Desde 2011 é professor titular visitante da longa duração no Instituto Internacional de Física, UFRN . Tem experiência na área de Física, com ênfase em Física das Partículas Elementares e Campos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: teoria de cordas, holografia, física matematica, teoria de nós.
