Selma Soares de Oliveira
Selma is a biologist and obtained her PhD in Microbiology in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with an interchange at Public Health Research Institute of New York University ( CAPES/FULBRIGHT fellowship).. In the doctorade studies she has worked on genomic libray on Lambda derivative vector and also on plasmid cloning and sequencing.In this ocasion she also have done experiments to understand the topography of pC194 plasmid and interaction with na enhancer protein.
Her master work was on molecular biology of resistance plasmids. Simultneously, she worked on characterization of nitrogen fixation genes of Paenibacillus azotofixans. Her current researches are about Microbiology , Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.
graduation at Biologia from Universidade Gama Filho (1985), master's at Microbiology from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1992) and doctorate at Microbiology from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998). Has experience in Microbiology, focusing on Bacteriology, acting on the following subjects: bacteriocinas, aeromonas, antibiotic resistance, staphylococcus and microbiologia.
