Janaína Pinto is a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the Institute of Social and Political Studies (IESP/UERJ). She provides consultancy in journalistic production, specialized research, technical writing for advocacy, and political articulation in the environmental field. She holds a degree in Social Communication with a specialization in Journalism from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and a master's degree in International Political Economy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Shortly after graduation (2011), she published a journalistic book on the socio-environmental conflict of the Guerra da Lagosta in the municipality of Icapuí in Ceará, inaugurating her interest in environmental issues. In her master's degree, she dedicated herself to studying historiographical tools of international analysis to deepen her investigative skills. In her Ph.D., she investigates actors and practices that obstruct, deny and delay the climate agenda in the Amazon. She is a member of the Brazilian Environmental Justice Network (RBJA), a collaborating researcher at the Interdisciplinary Observatory on Climate Change (OIMC), and the Laboratory of World Political Analysis (LabMundo). She researches actors and practices of deforestation in the Amazon, climate obstruction and denialism, and socio-environmental conflicts.
Janaína Pinto é doutoranda em Ciência Política no Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos (IESP/UERJ). Presta consultoria em produção jornalística, pesquisa especializada, redação técnica para advocacy e articulação política no campo ambiental. É formada em Comunicação Social com especialização em Jornalismo pela Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) e mestre em Economia Política Internacional pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Logo após a graduação (2011), publicou livro jornalístico sobre o conflito socioambiental da Guerra da Lagosta no município cearense de Icapuí, inaugurando seu interesse pelas questões ambientais. No mestrado, dedicou-se a estudar ferramentas historiográficas de análise internacional para aprofundar habilidades investigativas. No Doutorado, investiga atores e práticas que obstruem, negam e atrasam a agenda climática na Amazônia. É membro da Rede Brasileira de Justiça Ambiental (RBJA), pesquisadora colaboradora do Observatório Interdisciplinar de Mudanças Climáticas (OIMC) e do Laboratório de Análise Política Mundial (LabMundo). Pesquisa atores e práticas do desmatamento na Amazônia, obstrução e negacionismo climático, e conflitos socioambientais.
