Andréa Dias Vial

I have a degree in History from the University of São Paulo; specialization in museology by the Museum of Archeology and Ethnography of USP; Master's degree in Social History from the University of São Paulo (2009) and a Ph.D. in Social History from the same university, with a one yearvisiting research at the Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage, University of Birmingham - UK. Since my graduation, I've been working for more than twenty years in the area of ​​memory, heritage and museology. I have experience in the area of ​​History and Cultural Heritage, with emphasis on Museology, working in different museums, archives and cultural institutions of São Paulo, such as the São Paulo Historical Archive, São Paulo Concert Hall, São Paulo Cultural Center, Institute Itaú Cultural , Rezende Barbosa Memorial, Museum of Image and Sound, Expomus Cultural Projects, Municipal Theater of São Paulo, Museum of the City of São Paulo and Department of Municipal Museums. Currently, my research field as a member of GEMINTER is museum's collections linked to intangible heritage. Through the project entitled Karajá's Presence, I'm collaborating as the responsible for an inventory of Karajá's dolls in the collections of museums at the state of São Paulo.

Possuo graduação em História pela Universidade de São Paulo; especialização em museologia pelo Museu de Arqueologia e Etnografia da USP; mestrado em História Social pela Universidade de São Paulo (2009) e doutorado em História Social pela mesma faculdade, com período sanduíche no Ironbridge International Institute for Cultural Heritage, University of Birmingham - UK. Desde a graduação atuo na área de memória, patrimônio e museologia. Profissionalmente tenho experiência na área de História e Patrimônio Cultural, com ênfase em Museologia, atuando em diferentes museus, arquivos e instituições culturais de São Paulo, como o Arquivo Histórico de São Paulo, Sala de Concertos São Paulo, Centro Cultural São Paulo, Itaú Cultural, Memorial Rezende Barbosa, Museu da Imagem e do Som, Expomus Projetos Culturais, Teatro Municipal de São Paulo, Museu da Cidade de São Paulo e na direção do Departamento dos Museus Municipais de São Paulo. Atualmente, minha pesquisa está ligada à area de história das coleções de museus e patrimônio imaterial. Como membro do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Museologia e Interdisciplinaridade-GEMINTER, atuo como pesquisadora do Projeto Presença Karajá, responsável pelo levantamento da presença de bonecas Karajá nos acervos dos museus do estado de São Paulo e na pesquisa sobre o escritor José Mauro de Vasconcelos na qual busco reconstruir sua atuação junto a diferentes povos indígenas e sua contribuição para a formação de coleções etnográficas.
